O masina studenteasca... / A student's car...

A photo from 1977-80, found on picasaweb, showing a group of students posing with their car. Back then, pre-war vehicles were not thought much of: although there was the nucleus of a classic car movement, most people considered them to be old wrecks, which is exaclty what they thought about 1960s cars (plenty of which could be found rusting in every suburban car park) until about 2005. So a pre-war car, which could be bought for as little as five thousand lei in running order (a new Dacia being 70000), could represent an ideal car for a student. I wonder if this group of young arrhitects liked their splendid Opel Kapitan convertible merely because it was cheap, or becasue they appreciated its transaltantic Art deco lines...
