Bucuresti-Sinaia in presa britanica / Bucharest-Sinaia in the British press

Nu, nu e vorba de evenimentele organizate de Retromobil, ci de celebra parada Bucuresti-Sinaia organizata de ACR in anii 80 si la inceputul anilor 90.

Masinile sunt: Citroen C6, inca existent in Bucuresti; celebrul Cadillac 1936 care a fost expus la salonul din Paris; un Fiat 1500; si un Morris Minor detinut de printul Mihai in anii 30, astazi in curs de restaurare. Cadillacul a parasit tara pentru Germania dupa turnarea filmului ""Oglinda" in 1993, iar Morris-ul poarta numere emise in septembrie 1988. Deci desi articolul e nedatat putem spune ca e vorba de perioada 1988-93. Sunt sigur ca cititorii fideli au amanunte in plus...

No, not the Retromobil-run events of today, but the famous Bucharest-Sinaia parade organised by the Romanian Automobile Club in the 1980s and early 1990s.

The cars are: Citroen C6, still in Bucharest; the famous 1936 Cadillac, star of that year's Paris motor show; a Fiat 1500; and the Morris Minor owned by Prince Michael in the 1930s, currently being restored. The Cadillac left Romania for Germany after being used in the 1993 film "The Mirror", and the plates on the Morris were issued in September 1988. So though the article is undated, we can be reasonably sure that it's from 1988-93. And I am sure that faithful readers can be even more precise...

Parcul de autoturisme al armatei române la 31 decembrie 1952, cu multumri lui Alin Bogdan Samusan. Intrebearea e: ce s-a intamplat cu bugatti si cu Rolls Royce? Stim ca cel putin 5 Rolls-Royce-uri din garajele casei regale au ajuns la garajele de stat in perioada 47-48, conform Monitorului Oficial... (pozele 1,2)

Militia in anii 50 / Militia in the 1950s

Din anii 50 - o carte postala emisa de militie incurajand comportarea corecta in strada.

Camioanele sunt un Dodge 1939 si un SR-101.

Cartea postala arata un Bucuresti aproape complet disparut...

The postcard shows a Bucharest which has almost completely disappeared...

Fiat 1500 vedete de film, redescoperite / Fiat 1500 film stars, rediscovered

Cei care isi aduc aminte de filmele Parasutistii (1972) sau Liceenii in alerta (1993) poate isi aduc aminte si de "vedetele" pe patru roti. E vorba despre doua exemplare Fiat 1500 decapotabil.

Incredibil, astazi ambele exista si sunt expuse de vanzare pe olx.ro - aici si aici. Saracul 1500 rosu, despre care am mai scris (desi spunand, gresit, ca e 1600) si-a perduti motorul si actele. Exemplarul albastru inca se tine bine pentru o masina care a avut o viata grea.

Inca mai sunt masini interesante in tara...

Those who remember the films "Parachutists" (1972) or "High school children in alert" (1993) might also remember the "stars" on four wheels, two wonderful Fiat 1500 cabriolets.

Incredibly, both still exist and are for sale on olx.ro - here and here. The red 1500, which I've previously written about (though saying erroneously that it's a 1600) has unfortunately lost its documents and its engine. The blue one still looks pretty good for a car that's had a hard life. 

There are still interesting cars to be found in Romania...
