Recent, un exemplar a aparut in Constanta. Banuiesc ca e vorba de un supravietuitor... Precum cazinoul, e in paragina si isi asteapta o noua viata.
In the 1971 film "Adio, draga Nela" there is a short sequence featuring a BMW Isetta on the Constanta promenade by the casino. Almost forty years on, this turns up - presumably it's the same one. Like the Constanta casino, this Isetta evidently in need of a new lease of life. In the 60s and 70s, Western cars were plentiful in Constanta, especially Opel Rekords, Ford Capris and Taunus, and more luxurious models. Some were brought over by Romanian sailors, while others were bought from Western holidaymakers whose car had broken down and who couldn't find the necessary parts. Oddly, this BMW is registered as a motorcycle.
